Ahoj! ANO!
Hi! YES! There’s one last post from Miami! And little bit even from Havana! Our flight back home on our last day was in the late afternoon so we had time to see even more! Even the weather came up nicely so we had sunny day instead of pouring rain (yayyy) :D. Ok, so we took a trip to Little Havana! After our brunch on the beach – well, burrito brunch 😀 I believe the pictures will warm you a bit (as we in Czech have now freezing weather!).
Little Havana is absolutely different world in Downtown Miami. It is actually just one street – Calle Ocho. It’s really worth the visit! I also did a blog from there – here. For locals it’s very important area – for cultural, social and political activities. Even festivals etc. When you came there you can have fresh coconut, local food or well known ice cream! The building is so cool! When you see it, you just have to have one, don’t you? We couldn’t resist so „hello ice cream!“. So delicious!
Of course there are typical cigar shops, cuban cafes and even their own Walk of Fame! Those cigar shop sells the best quality cigars (by their words :D). I don’t understand it as I do not smoke at all but it is cool to see it as a part of their culture and the atmosphere there. We even met the man who founded the brand! What I loved the most was their wall art. If you can call it like that. You could watch the paintings of celebrities, important topics of little statues on the walls and colours. I could stay there staring at it pretty long time :D.
Who/more what you can meet everywhere – are cocks! There’s like million of them! Ok, less than that. But a LOT! It’s cultural thing for locals and they were painted by local artist. It’s nice symbol of Little Havana. Interesting was even the visit of the souvenir shop. You could smell their coffee everywhere! Taste it and buy it of course afterwards. I loved the vintage style of the shop and the really old and cool Coca Cola refrigerator .Who doesn’t like Coke, right?
After that we visited the Domino Park, which is must to see while you’re in Little Havana to feel the atmosphere. Elderly men sit there, drink their coffee and chat who knows about what :). Well, I think I wouldn’t walk there by myself. It’s reminded what happened in Panama 😀 but you just can’t resist the vibe! From there we took Uber to our hotel and straight to the airport. And it was the end of our Florida adventure!
I believe you liked all posts! Soon I’m having traveling month again so stay tuned! 🙂
