What belongs on the American slash Miami to-do list? Definitely a match (basketball, baseball, rugby,…), going to the movies, a great shopping mall, try typical American meals & treats (whether the healthier or less healthier options) and more. I could check off those mentioned items, during two days! And I can thank the not so sunny weather for that! If it was typical Floridian weather I bet we would rather stay on the beach, swim, read book, ride the bikes along the beaches etc and be over consumed smoothies! Even though, it can seem as warm weather days in the pictures, it wasn’t like that. For a few days we saw more clouds than sun. In America, in the the beginning of January there were unexpected low temperatures. There were snow calamities on the North so I was happy and grateful for our 5 to 7 degrees of Celsius. So, the question was well-defined: “What to do in Miami in rainy and cold days?”. It´s not so difficult to guess what we did, as the name of the article is helping!
Firstly we drove to the Dolphin Mall. It was raining all they so we wanted to hide somewhere. Unfortunately, as I am very skilful girl I managed to “somehow” delete all the pictures and videos from that day. I am really sorry. But I can tell you about it in short. It is large building with around 140 shops, which offer either new either outlet clothes and goods. It was a bit weird for me as it looked like deployed building. We walked around and bought just a smoothie 😀 . What caught my eye on the first place was Cheesecake Factory! It was decided then, we have to go there one day! There was also nice cinema so we decided to go to the movies as well, but back in Miami Beach. Second activity was a deal – we went to see Jumanji 2! The cinema was on the Lincoln Road Mall. I know it sounds weird, that cinema is the same thing everywhere BUT it WAS different! Small details can do a big difference! Either it is the beverages and food, the place itself or the movie hall. Look at the picture below to see what do they offer – we chose the little corndogs!
The third thing to do while it’s raining is pretty obvious – shopping! For us it was just “obligatory” shopping as we were going to the Universal Studios in Orlando next day and the weather forecast wasn’t good – 6 degrees of Celsius. I really had to buy long pants, beanie and hoodie :D. I bought these in Urban Outfitters. PS: Lincoln Road Mall got absolutely fairy atmosphere in the evening. It’s the street with a lot of shops all along.
The most important and wonderful program of the day was on the plan in the evening – the basketball match! We were SO excited! We bought the tickets really last minute and they weren’t that expensive. Well, if you wanted to sit closer to the game you should prepare much more money. But we didn’t need that so we were so happy to have that view :D. We were in the American Airlines Arena which is simply breathtaking. Honestly, I don’t know many basketball players, just one – my friend from High School and Looney Tunes :D. So I loved it all much more together with the hot dog, chips and people all around. A man who sat next to me was absolutely passionate about the game that he was screaming all the time so thanks to him I was also in it :D. I even liked it more than baseball game I went to in California. Even now, when I am writing about it I hear in my head the music, sound of the masses and I see the wedding proposal, which was there (not mine though :D). Oh and the mascot was perfect, the way he danced was just ridiculous :D. It’s definitely worth it to go there! Well, everything I wrote about today 🙂 !
Z těchto dnů jsem udělala i video – můžete na něj kouknout TADY.
I also edited a video of these days – you can watch it HERE.
